The Ministry of Culture's Domenica al Museo returns, granting free access to state museums and archaeological parks on the first Sunday of each month. On 3 May 2026 many archaeological sites in Naples, Caserta, Salerno, Avellino and Benevento will be open without an admission fee.
Below is a selection of key archaeological sites open in Campania. Visits follow normal opening hours; where reservations are required, book in advance via the official channels of each site or the Musei Italiani app.
This initiative is an excellent opportunity to explore Campania's archaeological wealth, from major Roman excavations to local museums that house important historical finds. For detailed opening information, access procedures and recommended routes, check the official pages of the managing institutions.
