SommersiVo is Dardust's artistic response to Venice, presented at the Venice Pavilion during the 61st International Art Exhibition. The installation transforms sound into living material: an autonomous piano and an AI-driven system shape evolving musical landscapes that react in real time to urban noises, environmental inputs and the presence of visitors.
Produced as part of the Note persistenti exhibition project, the work was developed in collaboration with set designer Paolo Fantin and with technical support from H-Farm and Cisco. The piece investigates the "submerged" layers of the city, translating memory and stratification into a sonic language that connects past and present.
The installation offers eight fixed daily sessions, performed at the top of each hour, so every visit becomes a unique experience: Venice is perceived as a dynamic sonic organism and visitors actively contribute to the creative process.
Visiting the installation means experiencing how individual sounds influence the composition: arriving at different times reveals continually changing sonic environments. The work invites reflection on urban memory, sound technologies and the use of artificial intelligence in artistic creation.
If you plan to attend, check the pavilion schedule and aim to be present for one of the hourly sessions to witness the performative impact of the autonomous piano.
