Venue: Musei di San Salvatore in Lauro, Rome. Dates: 17 April – 19 July 2026.
This exhibition explores the artistic journey of Dante Ferretti, one of Italy's most celebrated production designers. Using the museum's cloister and gallery spaces, the show brings together original sketches, painted studies, scale models and archival items to illustrate the interplay between visual art and cinema.
Curated by Raffaele Curi and organized by Il Cigno Arte with Vertigo Syndrome, the exhibition expands on a recent presentation and features around forty works including preparatory studies and archival pieces. It highlights both Ferretti's Hollywood achievements and his ties to Italian cinema, making it relevant for visitors interested in set design, archival practice and creative process.
The show also notes Ferretti's three Academy Awards and his current role as artistic director for the Museo del Mare project linked to Ancona as Capital of Culture 2028.
Visitor information: recommended for film enthusiasts, scenography students and design professionals. Check the museum's official schedule for hours and guided-tour options.
