From Drapò to Tricolore: historical reenactment through Turin's monuments

When: Sunday 15 March, 15:00–17:00. Where: Turin historic center. The event highlights the city's and Piedmont's role in the process of Italian Unification.

The reenactment moves through landmark sites and symbolic squares, reviving scenes, costumes and key moments of the Risorgimento. Local historical reenactment groups and cultural associations participate to keep public memory active.

Route and main highlights

  • Meeting point and start: forecourt of the Monumental Church of San Filippo Neri (via Maria Vittoria), 15:00.
  • Palazzo Cisterna gardens: living tableaux inspired by Piedmontese and Risorgimento history.
  • Piazza Carignano: evocative passage in front of the building that housed the first Parliament of the Kingdom of Italy.
  • Finish: Piazza Carlo Alberto with baroque and Risorgimento-era historical dances.

The event features costumed processions, open-air staged reenactments and short performances. These scenes offer an immersive perspective on the episodes that shaped the path to national unity and draw attention to the cultural significance of the monuments involved.
