Church of the Assunta in Recanati nominated for "Places of the Heart" 2026

The Church of the Assunta in Recanati is a candidate in the national census "Places of the Heart", promoted by the FAI in collaboration with Intesa Sanpaolo. Now in its thirteenth edition, the project highlights cultural and landscape assets that need protection and promotion.

The public voting phase for the 2026 edition began on 12 May and is open until 15 December 2026. The Church of the Assunta remains closed due to damage and declared unfit for use after the 2016 seismic events; the nomination aims to restore attention to its historical, religious and community significance.

2026 edition: funds and opportunities

The 2026 programme allocates a total of €600,000. Prizes are assigned to the top three places (€70,000, €60,000 and €50,000). After the final ranking is published in 2027, a call for projects will be opened for places that collected at least 3,000 votes; selected projects can receive up to €50,000 each.
