Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea presents the first solo museum exhibition in Italy by artist, poet and activist Cecilia Vicuna. Installed along the building's long gallery (Manica Lunga), the show proposes a sensorial path centered on water, mountains and glaciers.
The exhibition develops from Vicuna's engagement with the local territory: from the Manica Lunga windows you can glimpse snow-capped peaks and a landscape shaped by moraine hills. The core work is imagined as a quipu acostado — a horizontal assembly of rope, bamboo and raw wool suspended at varying heights, evoking geological time and natural movement.
Vicuna's work privileges bodily perception: the exhibition asks visitors to move through the space to activate multiple senses and to reflect on the human presence within the landscape. The artist also emphasizes material circularity — some pieces are conceived to return to the earth, embodying a regenerative cycle that links life and death.
Visitor advice: allow sufficient time for the visit, walk slowly along the Manica Lunga and follow the sonic and verbal cues scattered in the installation.
