Casa Taiwan at Milan Design Week: materials, light and sustainability

From 21 to 26 April 2026, Casa Taiwan presents a cross-disciplinary exhibition at Milan Design Week highlighting Taiwanese advances in material innovation and sustainable design.

The initiative, organised by the Taiwanese Commercial Association in Italy with T12 Lab, occupies 200 m² of indoor space and 1,500 m² of outdoor garden, combining commercial displays, academic research and cultural performances.

• Key participants: Taiwan Sugar Corporation (Taisugar), Fengyu Group, Bio-architecture Formosana (BaF), NTUST Department of Design, Hony Glass Technology, Techmation (with EEI), Wynist, Lotos (Techome), Yatung ready-mixed concrete.
• Featured work: recyclable and upcycled materials, solar glass applications, mineral surface coatings, low-emission concrete and solutions for green architecture.
• Interactive elements: an energy-saving photovoltaic glass house developed with NTUST and T12 Lab; luminous installations and the first Italian presentation of the Fucheng lantern tradition.

The exhibition aims to be a gateway for collaboration between Taiwanese material industries and Italian design and construction players, with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan facilitating industry meetings.

Exhibit design by an Italian team merges spatial aesthetics with Taiwanese cultural imagery and sustainable materials, offering an integrated model of innovation, research and circular economy practices.
