When: Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 May 2026. Nationwide activities are designed to introduce the public to the country’s natural richness.
The Italian National Trust (FAI) presents the fourth edition of the "Walks for Biodiversity": two days of guided walks, workshops, observations and bioblitz aimed at discovering local flora and fauna. The initiative ties into International Day for Biological Diversity (22 May) and features events at 25 FAI properties across 15 regions, plus over one hundred activities organised by local FAI branches.
These are not technical hikes but accessible walks and workshops: sessions are led by biologists, botanists, ornithologists, park rangers, beekeepers, naturalist guides and gardeners who explain ecosystems, key species and conservation practices in plain language.
The Walks for Biodiversity are a practical way to experience diverse landscapes, learn about native species and take part in habitat protection. For the full programme and practical details consult FAI’s official information and local branch listings.
