The MARV (Museo d'Arte Rubini Vesin) in Gradara hosts the exhibition "Bucci. From the Marche to Paris", showcasing more than 150 works by Anselmo Bucci (1887–1955). The show is a major opportunity to explore the work of an influential figure in 20th-century figurative art.
- Works on display: over 150 paintings, drawings, prints and photographs dated between 1904 and 1950.
- Loans and archives: Quadreria Cesarini of Fossombrone, the Anselmo Bucci Archive and private collections.
- Produced and funded by: Municipality of Gradara in collaboration with the Municipality of Fossombrone, Gradara Innova s.r.l. and the Rete Museale Marche Nord; funded by the Marche Region.
- Context: the exhibition is part of the project “From the Marche to Europe: three artists for Gradara”, highlighting artists from the province of Pesaro-Urbino.
The exhibition is an important moment for MARV, which opened to the public in February 2023 and is currently undergoing renovation. The initiative aims to position Gradara and the museums in the regional network as a high-level destination for art lovers from Italy and abroad.
Why visit
The show traces Bucci's artistic development — from his training at Brera to his activity in Paris — emphasizing his skill as a printmaker and his portrayals that connect regional Marche identity with broader European currents.
