Borgo Verde in Conegliano: redevelopment plan for the former Zanussi

Autore: Redazione 27/04/2026 22:36

Borgo Verde in Conegliano: project overview

The Municipality of Conegliano has presented a regeneration plan for the former Zanussi site, aiming to transform a strategic area near the historic centre into a mixed-use neighbourhood with public amenities and green space.

Main features

  • Public green: more than 2 hectares reserved for parks and community areas;
  • Collective spaces: equipped areas for events, cultural activities and civic services, including public buildings;
  • Mobility and parking: additional parking capacity and improved links to the city’s transport nodes;
  • Education and sports: space for a school hub, an ITS institute and large sports facilities such as a gym;
  • Sustainability: measures like photovoltaic roofs, green facades and pedestrianised areas to enhance environmental quality.

Urban concept and local ties

Borgo Verde is conceived as a new urban segment that strengthens the connection between the historic centre and the Prosecco hills. A large public square is planned as a central meeting place for events, cultural production and institutional functions.

Relevance for small towns and historic centres

This type of redevelopment demonstrates how reclaiming disused areas can reinforce historic town centres by providing services for residents, attracting newcomers and supporting the local economy through shared public spaces.

Practical information

Location: Conegliano (TV) — ZIP 31015. The plan covers areas adjacent to the historic centre and the city’s railway nodes.

Coordinates: 45.8890423, 12.3005572

For residents and local stakeholders, the project is an opportunity to engage in shaping public spaces and future cultural and social programming.
