Venice Biennale 2026: "A Kiss on the Eyes" at the Turkish Pavilion

Nilbar Güreş presents a selection of recent works and earlier pieces under the title "A Kiss on the Eyes". Curated by Basak Doga Temur, the exhibition highlights textile art as a vehicle for memory, craft and political reflection.

The display brings together sculptures, installations, paintings and works on paper and fabric produced between December 2025 and March 2026. Many pieces resulted from collaborative processes with sculptors, blacksmiths, seamstresses and other artisans, emphasizing the importance of manual practices and domestic techniques often marginalized in mainstream art history.
