CHORA project launched in Bari: Italy‑Greece cultural cooperation

The CHORA project, funded by the Interreg VI‑A Greece‑Italy programme, officially kicked off in Bari on 31 March and 1 April 2026. The meeting brought together representatives from all partner regions, including the Calabria Region, to launch operational activities.

• Goal: establish a cross‑border network of multifunctional cultural hubs for production, training and creative exchange.
• Main activities: artist residencies, training and capacity building for cultural operators, and joint festivals and events.
• Expected impact: regeneration of cultural spaces, enhancement of shared tangible and intangible heritage, and promotion of sustainable development and territorial cohesion.

The project is hosted by the Puglia Region as lead partner, with the Calabria Region participating through its Department of Tourism, Culture and Territorial Identity. The kick‑off aligned partners on strategic objectives, planned actions and implementation timelines.
