In the heart of the Carinaro industrial zone now stands the Vega Palace, a structure that has redefined the relationship between business, architecture, and high-level hospitality. With its Grand Opening, highly anticipated and celebrated with significant media attention, the Vega Palace marked the Marican Group's entry into the world of hospitality, not as a simple evolution, but as the natural culmination of a journey spanning over forty years.
The Canciello family's story began in the Eighties thanks to the vision of its founder, Mario Canciello, who transformed an agricultural activity into a business that is today a benchmark in real estate, construction, integrated logistics, renewable energy, and high value-added services.

Over the years, style has indeed become a distinctive component of the group's projects. The industrial buildings bearing the Marican name have acquired a rare recognisability in the sector: architectures with decisive features, essential lines, and chromatic and geometric choices inspired by a vision rooted in both functionality and aesthetics. Hence the name "Vega", the brightest star in the Lyra constellation, a symbol of guidance and ambition.
The Vega Palace today represents the completion of this philosophy and of the Vega Luxury brand: not a simple boutique hotel, but a multifunctional hub capable of combining hospitality, gastronomy, event spaces, and an experience designed for managers, professionals, and visitors connected to the local industrial fabric. A project that introduces not just a new service, but a new architectural and cultural language for the territory.
It is precisely from this evolution—from this continuity between industrial design and luxury hospitality—that we begin our conversation with Dr. Ferdinando Canciello.
The Vega Palace project seems to condense the many experiences in design and elegance gained by the Marican Group, not just structurally, with factories and warehouses that seem to have a solid identity of their own, making the group's entry into the luxury world almost an obligatory result. How did the idea to develop these design and aesthetic ideas in the luxury hospitality sector come about?
Entering the luxury hospitality sector is a natural progression of our journey. The Marican Group has always cared for the aesthetics and structural quality of its projects, even in areas like logistics and industrial construction. The architect of the Vega Palace, Marco Cicconi, expressed the intention to focus on comfort, design, and elegance in the project, believing that even in a work context, people should feel at ease with these characteristics. We firmly believe that even in a work context, like the industrial area where the Vega Palace is located, people should feel comfortable, benefiting from comfort, design, and refined elegance. This approach fits perfectly with our pre-existing Vega Luxury reality, already established in the luxury service sector, specialised in the rental of luxury cars and yachts, configuring a new format of luxury experience. The Vega Palace is the crowning achievement of this vision, a bridge between the efficiency of logistics and the excellence of hospitality
.
Support for the development of local areas has been declared elsewhere as well, with real and considerable investment plans in the Naples and Caserta areas. How satisfied are you with the level of revaluation of the territories and the jobs you have contributed to creating, both indirectly through construction and directly with the Vega brand, in these areas?
Our satisfaction is measured by the concreteness of our commitments: between 2021 and 2023, the Marican Group completed an overall investment plan of over 500 million euros in the provinces of Naples and Caserta, creating over 3,000 new jobs, including direct employees and induced employment. Furthermore, the company's roadmap foresees, by 2027, investments of an additional 350 million euros. These include the construction of new photovoltaic plants for a total of over 55 megawatts for green energy production, involving an investment of approximately 50 million euros; the construction of 3 hotels, with 416 rooms plus 55 equipped mini-apartments, and two structures, one residential and one commercial, for an investment of approximately 120 million euros; as well as the construction of approximately 400,000 square metres of industrial properties, destined for sustainable and intermodal logistics in the industrial areas of Nola, Marcianise, and Carinaro, for an investment of approximately 180 million euros. Therefore, the Vega Palace is an example of how we can generate shared value for the future of the territory, turning industrial areas into centres of excellence.
The Vega Palace stands as the flagship project of the Marican Group, which has managed to create a multifunctional Hub that welcomes professionals, employees, companies, and visitors, creating a hospitable and elegant environment. But what truly makes the Vega Palace unique? What creates and demarcates the unique identity pursued by the Team that bears the name of the brightest star in the Lyra constellation?
The logic is simple: the Vega Palace is divided into three areas designed to enhance people's time, adapting to their rhythms and needs. The Restaurant is the space for privacy and excellence. Here, for both lunch and dinner, we offer a cuisine signed by our Executive Chef Lino Acunzo, designed for those seeking a curated gastronomic experience, perfect for important business meetings or for those wishing to treat themselves to a moment of authentic pleasure. The Bistrot is dedicated to smart speed: fresh, light dishes, ready immediately. It is the ideal option for those with limited time who don't want to compromise on good food to return to work operational. The Lounge Bar, finally, is pure sociability: from the morning coffee to the evening aperitivo. It is the area where people meet and professional relationships flow naturally. In summary, we offer our guests the freedom to choose the experience most suited to every moment of the day. Finally, I must mention that from next spring, 20 suites will be available.

The Vega Palace project roadmap has just begun with the Grand Opening on November 21st, a major event with many distinguished guests and curated in every detail thanks to the artistic direction entrusted to Enzo Miccio. Are you satisfied with the outcome of the event, which polarised the attention of the area and the media?
The Grand Opening was a great success that fills us with pride. The inauguration was curated down to the smallest details by a high-profile Art Director like Enzo Miccio and was a beautiful, glamorous evening, with distinguished guests like Mara Venier, Red Canzian, Edoardo De Crescenzo, and Sal da Vinci. The public's response and the media attention demonstrate the scale of the project and its value, not only economic but also social and cultural, for the territory. We successfully communicated the ambition and uniqueness of the Vega Palace, laying the foundations for its future.
The Vega Palace project brings together design knowledge and territorial experience, an investment designed for the future of Vega, with forecasts for other openings in other areas of the region. What do you hope to achieve with this project? What are your hopes for the project?
My main wish is that the Vega Palace becomes a benchmark model in the landscape of professional hospitality, demonstrating that excellence and design can flourish even in contexts previously associated only with logistics. I hope it continues to generate shared value for the territory, helping to elevate the image of the entire area. Ultimately, I hope that Vega Palace establishes itself as a reference point for professionals, a place where business combines with wellbeing, beauty, and efficiency.
With the Vega Palace project now launched, after the opening, how do you plan to replicate the concept in other areas? How is the medium-to-long term future of the group's hospitality frontier taking shape?
The success of the Vega Palace in this initial phase is crucial for our roadmap. The concept, which unites the functionality of integrated logistics with the excellence of hospitality, was designed to be replicable in other territories with high development potential, where we can bring our philosophy. In the medium to long term, our goal remains to always create and promote the economic, social, and cultural development of the areas in which we operate.
