Galleria CULT in Alghero hosts "Between Flesh and Pulp: IO mela", a solo exhibition by artist Roberta Mela. The project combines photography, performance and installation to examine the boundary between surface and interior, using the body as a starting point to reflect on identity, vulnerability and inclusion.
Curated by Valentina Piredda‑Sardinia and introduced by Aaron Gonzalez, the show follows a sensory route where the apple functions as a metaphor for transformation — sweetness, tartness and surprise intersect in the photographs and performative acts on display.
The exhibition includes a series of intimate photographs, video works and performances that propose an experiential reading of the body. Rather than a mere aesthetic study, the project opens a conversation on difference: illness, disability and aesthetic diversity are addressed with a language that balances tenderness and expressive power.
Roberta Mela's practice merges experimental painting, intimate photography and photo‑therapy approaches: her art treats the body as a collective narrative tool, inviting visitors to a participatory, sensory encounter. Shown across several Italian cities, her works propose a contemporary, inclusive perspective with echoes of feminist and body‑positive discourse.
Attend to engage with a thoughtful, contemporary exploration of body and identity presented in an accessible and emotionally engaging format.
