AI-Quila: artificial intelligence in L'Aquila's schools

The Municipal Council of L'Aquila has approved AI-QUILA – Intelligences and culture for the territory, promoted by Fondazione Magna Carta and included in L'Aquila's program as the Italian Capital of Culture 2026. The initiative aims to spread AI knowledge and skills by involving schools, universities and communities across the seismic-affected area.

• Three thematic workshops (innovation, culture, territory) hosted in schools and universities.
• A final event to present outcomes and share experiences.
• Engagement of young people, teachers and local organizations to promote creative experimentation and digital skills.

Goal: to leverage artificial intelligence as a driver for cultural and territorial development, fostering collaboration between educational institutions and local communities and producing concrete, lasting impacts.

The municipality states the project strengthens the link between culture and innovation during a pivotal year for the city and seeks to extend benefits beyond the city center to the wider territory.
