The Municipality of Agropoli has formally submitted its candidacy for the Italian Book Capital 2027 with the dossier titled "Agropoli - Readings from the Sea, Readings to Love". The project frames reading within the city's maritime identity and aims to make books an active part of community life.
The dossier was prepared with the involvement of institutional and cultural partners, including the Italian Library Association (AIB), the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park, and the Archaeological Park of Paestum and Velia.
"This candidacy we launch with pride is born within a precise time and a clear vision," said Mayor Roberto Mutalipassi, highlighting the link between the cultural project and events that will bring attention to Campania in 2027. The councillor for Culture emphasized the importance of the September Cultural Festival and the city library as focal points.
