Experts gather in Vasto for national conference on the Mediterranean: plastics and climate change in focus

On Saturday 21 March, Palazzo d’Avalos in Vasto hosted the 16th national conference organized by Centro Studi Cetacei. The event attracted researchers, sector operators and members of the public concerned with environmental issues affecting the Mediterranean Sea.

Speakers addressed plastic pollution — especially microplastics — and their interaction with climate change. Presentations highlighted the spread of plastic debris, impacts on marine life and practical approaches to monitoring and mitigation.
