An art and social-commitment exhibition hosted in the historic rooms of Palazzo Cefalà: 21 large-format portraits tell stories of violence and illness transformed into public messages of awareness, responsibility and rebirth.
The exhibition features authorial photographs by an Italian photographer, offering powerful visual narratives. Each portrait is paired with a QR code so visitors can hear the subjects’ own accounts, creating a direct and intimate dialogue between viewer and storyteller.
A central symbolic reference is the Japanese art of kintsugi, which highlights breaks by repairing them with gold. This visual metaphor emphasizes how wounds can become signs of collective value and resilience rather than being hidden.
Staging the project in a historic palace reinforces the concept: a monument setting connects architectural heritage with pressing social themes, engaging a broad audience and addressing younger generations as key actors of cultural change.
Supported by local and national foundations and partners, the exhibition aims to be a living space for civic and cultural aggregation. Free admission and the authenticity of the testimonies encourage empathy, reflection and active participation.
Visitor tips: allow 45–60 minutes to listen to the testimonies via QR codes; follow opening hours and respect the exhibition spaces within the palace.
