Spring family weekend at the Galata Maritime Museum and the Lanterna of Genoa

On Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May 2026, two of Genoa's landmarks host family-focused activities: interactive workshops, guided tours, an art exhibition and a yoga session with a city view. Below you find the program and practical information to join.

Program for families

• Spring Treasure Hunt – Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM at the Galata Maritime Museum. An interactive family workshop with clues, hands-on navigation-themed challenges (spice identification, knot tying) and a final secret message. Activity included with museum admission; concludes with a snack and a spring-themed surprise made in collaboration with Pesto di Prà. Limited places: booking recommended.
• Group exhibition “Porto Aperto: Journeys in Art” – Opening on Saturday 16 May at 5:00 PM. The exhibition features contemporary painting and sculpture exploring the idea of travel; on display until 7 June.
• Gentle yoga and guided visit – Sunday 17 May, 10:00 AM on the Terrazza CoeClerici: a 30-minute guided visit led by an educational operator followed by a 1-hour yoga class with certified instructor Laura Malavolta. A reduced ticket is available that allows a full museum visit within 60 days.
• The Lanterna… in pieces! – Sunday 17 May, outdoor family activity at the Lanterna of Genoa. Meeting point at 3:00 PM at the Lanterna museum ticket office (start of the walk). Participants will search for and reassemble fragments of the lighthouse’s history in an immersive route. Activity included with the admission ticket; reservation required (limited places) by email: [email protected] including name, number of adults and children and a phone contact.
