Turi Rapisarda — Atto dovuto

Ottofinestre presents Atto dovuto, a solo exhibition by photographer Turi Rapisarda curated by Carola Allemandi. Part of the off program of the third EXPOSED – Torino Photo Festival, the show juxtaposes earlier works with recent projects to reveal less explored facets of the artist's practice.

Practical information

  • Dates: 15/04/2026 – 20/05/2026
  • Vernissage: 15/04/2026, 6:30 PM
  • Venue: Ottofinestre, via Saluzzo 88, Turin, Italy
  • Visits: by appointment — Email: [email protected] | Phone: +39 3357667982

Works on display

The exhibition gathers three series that illustrate Rapisarda's formal discipline and thematic range, consistently focused on human conditions in anthropological, social and historical terms.

  • Sei dei Mille (1992): six large-format portraits of migrant workers from Southern Italy, darkroom prints produced by the artist at near life-size and installed within the venue's large windows. The presentation reframes the storefront display and evokes architectural figures associated with physical endurance.
  • Mutoid (1994–1995): a documentary series on the Mutoid Waste Company, a community committed to creative recycling and the construction of sculptures and machines from iron waste, illustrating anti-consumerist and collective living practices.
  • Pixel on Silverprint (from 2021): developed with Edoardo Salviato, this project stems from the "nomadic darkroom" experiments and the use of LCD screens as independent light sources. It investigates the relationship between humans and technology through performative photographic acts.

Why visit

The show provides a coherent overview of Rapisarda's work, blending technical mastery in darkroom printing with a critical perspective on societal frameworks. The site-specific installation and analog processes offer a concentrated viewing experience.

Practical tip: visits are by appointment only; contact the venue by email or phone to schedule your visit.
