Tipicità in Blu 2026: the sea as a laboratory for the future

From 16 to 22 May Ancona highlights the blue economy with the thirteenth edition of Tipicità in Blu. The festival turns the city into a hub connecting the sea with culture, tourism, research, sustainability, nautical industries and gastronomy, in the context of Ancona as Italy's Culture Capital 2028.

Events will take place mainly at Marina Dorica, the Mole Vanvitelliana and along the waterfront, with a programme aimed at the public, professionals and schools.

  • Opening weekend (16-17 May): launch of the Grand Tour delle Marche, the Sailing Chef regatta (combining sailing and cookery) and Blu Tour theatrical visits focused on Ancona's maritime heritage.
  • Visits and briefings: departures for the "Visit to the Shipyard" to Fincantieri and sessions on shipbuilding and marine supply chains.
  • 18–22 May: professional days at the Mole Vanvitelliana covering sustainability, innovation, nautical sectors and skills, with contributions from the university and local institutions.
  • Closing on 22 May with the forum "Democratic Energy and the Water Cycle" hosted by journalist Duilio Giammaria.

The festival is accompanied by a Blue Week—themed menus, exhibitions and city-wide events running until 24 May. The programme aims to strengthen the strategic role of the sea for the local economy and promote educational pathways involving schools and universities.
