Soresina: Stefano Zagaglia — The Last Ark

The DAV – Department of Visual Arts in Soresina presents The Last Ark, a retrospective exhibition by Milanese artist Stefano Zagaglia (Milan, 1966). The show gathers recent oil paintings in which the artist investigates the relationship between humans and nature, focusing on African wildlife and the role of light in shaping each subject's presence.

Zagaglia's painting moves away from merely documentary approaches: his work privileges an intimate encounter between viewer and animal portrait, restoring individuality and dignity to the depicted subjects. Color, texture and meticulous detail create a narrative that is both aesthetic and contemplative, encouraging reflection on biodiversity's importance.
