The Museo Civico di Arco hosts a comprehensive exhibition on Giovanni Segantini that traces the main phases of his career: from early Milanese works to paintings from his Swiss period. The display gathers paintings, drawings and, for the first time in Arco, the complete set of engravings made by his sons Gottardo and Mario, newly acquired by the municipality.
This exhibition continues the collaboration started with shows in Bassano del Grappa and involves loans from national collections and the Segantini Museum in St. Moritz. Among the highlights is the important municipal acquisition "Sole d’autunno", alongside early 1880s works, pieces from the Navigli series and notable Swiss-period paintings.
Key points of the exhibition at a glance:
This exhibition represents the first phase of a wider project: the enlarged Arcense collection will travel to St. Moritz later in 2026 for presentation to a Swiss audience. Consequently, the works will be on loan abroad through the end of 2026 and are scheduled to return to Arco in 2027.
Visitor tips: check the museum website for updates on hours and related events; consider joining a guided tour to gain deeper insight into Segantini’s artistic phases and the context of the family engravings.
