Presentation of «αγωγη/agoghé» at the Gipsoteca in Pisa

The Gipsoteca of Ancient Art and the Antiquarium of the University of Pisa, together with the Department of Civilizations and Forms of Knowledge and the University Museum System, host a presentation of the journal ΑΓΩΓΗ/AGOGHÉ. The event is part of Amico Museo 2026 and admission is free.

  • What will be presented: new issues of AGOGHÉ featuring research on excavations, museums and exhibition practices.
  • Featured issues:
    • AGOGHÉ XIX – Urban building in the Roman and Late Antique Mediterranean: case studies (edited by Antonino Facella)
    • AGOGHÉ XX-XXI – τῇ καλλίστῃ: Writings in honour of Agrigento, European Capital of Culture 2025 (edited by Valentina Caminneci, Maria Concetta Parello and Maria Serena Rizzo)
    • AGOGHÉ XXII – University plaster cast collections. New technologies for accessibility (edited by Chiara Tarantino)

Program:

  • 11:00–11:45 – Introduction by the journal editors Anna Anguissola and Salvatore Vitale; contributions from Letizia Gualandi (editorial manager) and Maurizio Iacono (University of Pisa); speeches by the issue editors.
  • 12:00–13:00 – Seminar: “Temporary exhibitions in antiquity” by Elena Calandra (Professor of Classical Archaeology, Director of the Archaeology Museum, University of Pavia).
