Die Gelbe Wand is a new non-profit exhibition space for contemporary photography, created by converting a former 800 sqm supermarket in Pordenone. Curated by Marco Minuz, Gak Yamada's solo show opens the venue with a programme that combines photographic experimentation, material interventions and sound-based installations.

The exhibition maps different phases of the artist's practice, showing how photography can become living matter and engage with painting and sculptural processes.

• HIGAN: Yamada's most photographic series, installed across a single wall for a unified visual impact, referencing Daido Moriyama's approach.
• Threshold: works where images are disrupted by textual elements and weathering, producing new visual surfaces.
• Red: prints soaked in water to reveal chromatic decay and intense material textures.
• Ku (Cielo): experiments using a scanner as a capture device, generating suspended images free from lens-based gravity.
• Kankō: reinforced and incised prints that evoke prehistoric marks and a secular sacredness through material layering.

The exhibition also employs light boxes and sound to create an immersive environment: music functions as a driving force that coalesces with visual elements in the most recent works.
