History and description
Built between 1926 and 1928 by Aldo Forcignanò and Gaetano Palmiotto on commission from the Mincuzzi family, the palace quickly became a symbol of Bari’s commercial life after its inauguration. It is a fine example of Liberty architecture, featuring an exterior façade decorated with columns, Ionic capitals, and a golden sphere, while inside it boasts a monumental staircase.
Curiosities
Although it later hosted a Benetton store (now closed), the palace originally contained private apartments, complete with reception halls and even a chapel.
Access
The interiors of the palace and its apartments are only accessible during special events, such as those organized by the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI). Admission fees range from €10 to €5 depending on the event.
How to reach it
Located in the Murat district, the building can be reached by train from the central station or on foot while strolling through the city center.
A true symbol of commerce in the heart of Bari, Palazzo Mincuzzi is a must‑see for lovers of architecture and Liberty style.
