Where: archaeological area of Nuraghe Appiu, Villanova Monteleone (SS), Sardinia.
The Nuraghe Appiu site will host a one-day event dedicated to local food traditions and productions. The initiative is part of the "Giornate del Cibo" series promoted by the Pro Loco of Villanova Monteleone within the Chenamos in carrela 2026 program.
The program combines nature, archaeology and gastronomy through practical and educational activities aimed at the public. Participants will learn to identify edible wild herbs, discover cheese- and ricotta-making techniques and explore pairings between wild plants and local dairy products.
Experts contributing to the event include botanist Emmanuele Farris (University of Sassari), food journalist Giovanni Fancello, chef Fabio Zago, with coordination by food communicator Tommaso Sussarello. Their combined expertise offers an integrated perspective on the culinary use of wild herbs in a rural and archaeological setting.
