New Perspectives: Civic Museum of Crema showcases recent acquisitions

The Civic Museum of Crema presents New Perspectives, a compact exhibition highlighting recent additions that strengthen the museum’s permanent collections. The display brings together paintings, watercolours and a substantial group of photographic and cinema equipment, offering visitors a clear introduction to the new holdings.

Donations are more than collection growth: they are acts of trust that transform private objects into public resources for research, preservation and cultural enjoyment at local, national and international levels.

Key works and donors

• Salomon Adler – Self-portrait as a painter in oriental costume (oil on canvas, 17th century), donated by the Marazzi family: a notable testimony to the artist’s ties with the Lombardy area.
• Elia Ruggeri – Six works (including a self-portrait, a portrait of his wife Maria, landscapes and still lifes), gifted by his heirs: a substantial contribution to the museum’s 20th-century collection.
• Angelo Vasta collection – A significant assembly of compact photographic and cinematic cameras, projectors and accessories documenting the technical and cultural history of analogue imaging.
• Eugenio Giuseppe Conti – Two 1896 watercolours portraying the artist’s daughters, acquired to enrich the museum’s 19th-century holdings.
