Current status: the Domenico Ridola National Archaeological Museum in Matera is temporarily closed while undergoing renovation and modernization. No official reopening date has been announced.
The refurbishment project aims to upgrade the museum's infrastructure and exhibition design, introducing improved visitor services, educational areas and multimedia installations to enhance accessibility and appeal.
