National Archaeological Museum of Concordia and Archaeological Area of Concordia Sagittaria

During the first weekend of May, from 1 to 3 May 2026, the National Archaeological Museum of Concordia in Portogruaro and the Archaeological Area of Concordia Sagittaria will be open to the public. This is a chance to explore local history and view finds and remains from the Roman city.

What to see

  • The museum: exhibits of finds, pottery and other materials recovered in the area, with explanatory displays on local discoveries.
  • The archaeological area: structural remains and urban traces from the Roman period that illustrate the ancient city's layout and life.

When and opening hours

The special opening runs from 1 May 2026 to 3 May 2026. Check updated opening hours before you travel, as times may change seasonally or for organizational reasons.

How to plan your visit

  • Allow at least a couple of hours for the museum and additional time to explore the outdoor archaeological area.
  • Wear comfortable shoes: outdoor paths can be uneven or gravelled.
  • Consider booking a guided tour, if available, to gain deeper insight into the finds and the site's history.

Transport and accessibility

Portogruaro and Concordia Sagittaria are reachable by car and local public transport. Check for mobility assistance or access restrictions by contacting the museum offices or local information points.

Practical tips

  • Verify times, ticketing and guided-tour availability on the official channels before departure.
  • Respect exhibit rules: some zones may prohibit photography or have limited access.
  • Bring water and sun protection if you plan to spend time outdoors, especially in warm weather.
