Mus-e Festival in Turin: parade and family workshops

When: Friday 22 and Saturday 23 May 2026. Where: Barriera di Milano neighborhood (Piazza Foroni) and Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, via Candia 3. Free entry.

What it is

The Mus-e Festival brings artistic activities and workshops outside classrooms to promote inclusion and arts education. The program involves local elementary schools and offers activities for children, families and teachers.

Main program

  • Friday 22 May, 10:30 – Circus parade through the streets of Piazza Foroni market: about 200 children from 9 classes will march with music and choreography.
  • Saturday 23 May, morning – Free workshops at Casa del Teatro Ragazzi e Giovani, organized in two age-based sessions.
  • Saturday 23 May, 14:15–16:30 – Training seminar for teachers: “Playing with theatre”.
  • Saturday 23 May, 17:00 – Final performance: “Contemporary Odyssey”.

Workshops for children and families (Saturday morning)

  • Dance – “Light as a Feather” (Elena Barolo): movement exploration on the theme of flight. Sessions: ages 5–8 10:30–11:30; ages 9–12 11:45–12:45.
  • Visual Arts – “Artists' Diaries” (Roberta Billè): creating a shared artistic diary for adults and children. Sessions: ages 9–12 10:30–11:30; ages 5–8 11:45–12:45.
  • Music – “Orchestra Express” (Sonia Llombart Jorba): body percussion and percussion instruments to play together. Sessions: ages 5–8 10:30–11:30; ages 9–12 11:45–12:45.

For teachers

The afternoon seminar offers practical theatre techniques for using voice, body and space in educational settings. It is aimed at teachers, educators and cultural operators looking to introduce theatrical methods in their practice.
