Genoa has introduced a new urban route focused on monumental trees, designed to highlight the city's green heritage and the stories these trees embody. The initiative spotlights specimens chosen for their age, size or historical significance, turning them into points of interest for residents and tourists alike.
Organised in collaboration with local associations, the project makes each tree identifiable through informational panels and dedicated signage, and can be explored independently or via guided walks that will be scheduled soon.
The itinerary consists of 26 stops spread across the historic centre and surrounding neighbourhoods. Featured species include fig, jacaranda, hackberry, magnolia, ginkgo biloba, linden and carob.
The route is intended for a leisurely pace, with short stops to read panels and appreciate each specimen. Guided visits will be organised in the coming weeks: check announcements from local groups for dates and booking details.

This itinerary provides a fresh way to experience Genoa, combining nature and monumental heritage and revealing overlooked corners of the city beyond the usual tourist circuit.
