Maremma: extended opening hours at archaeological parks with daylight saving

As daylight saving time begins, the main archaeological parks in the Maremma region extend their opening hours, allowing visits until sunset. The adjusted schedules are effective from Sunday 29 March through 24 October 2026.

General information

Period: 29 March – 24 October 2026. Evening opening hours have been extended to make it easier to visit the Etruscan and Roman sites in the area.

Roselle Archaeological Park

  • Opening hours: daily, 09:45–18:45 (last admission 18:00).
  • Info point: open on Saturdays and Sundays, 09:45–12:45.

Park and National Archaeological Museum of Cosa (Ansedonia)

  • Archaeological area hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:45–18:30 (last admission 18:00). Closed on Monday.
  • Note: the museum is closed for reinstallation works until the end of May.

Vetulonia Archaeological Park

  • Opening hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 09:45–18:30 (last admission 18:00). Closed on Monday.
  • Site highlights: includes the Pietrera tomb, excavations at Poggiarello Renzetti and Costa Murata.
  • Notice: the Tomba del Diavolino II is temporarily closed for restoration work.

Visitor tips

  • Check for last-minute changes or unexpected closures by contacting the numbers above before you travel.
  • Allow enough time before the last admission to complete your visit comfortably.
  • Bring water, sun protection and sturdy shoes; archaeological routes often run over uneven ground.

The extended opening hours make it easier to enjoy Maremma’s archaeological heritage in the later daylight hours and to appreciate Etruscan and Roman remains at sunset.
