Date and time: Saturday, 23 May, from 13:30 to 17:00.
Guided tours of the historic centre of Maccagno Imperiale, one of Italy's most beautiful villages, are starting. The initiative is the result of a partnership between the municipality, ISIS Carlo Volontè of Luino and the Pro Loco: students will lead the tours, presenting routes designed to highlight local history and lakeside panoramas.
The walk departs from the Civico Museo Parisi Valle and visits the main features of the medieval village, with narrow streets, vaulted passages and viewpoints over Lake Maggiore.
Meeting point: Civico Museo Parisi Valle. The tour takes place in the afternoon; comfortable footwear is recommended due to steps and uneven streets. For exact schedules and confirmations, contact the Municipality or the local Pro Loco.
Work has begun to clean Parco Giona, one of the area's most frequented green spaces; similar interventions will extend to the Maccagno Inferiore shoreline to improve beach quality and visitor welcome.
At the same time, the municipal administration reports the completion of an energy efficiency upgrade at the Passo Forcora bar-restaurant: the photovoltaic system will generate about 14,000 kWh per year, with estimated savings of about €3,500 annually. The project received a 60% non-repayable grant from the national energy authority.
Why visit: the tour offers a chance to explore medieval urban layout, defensive towers and stunning Lake Maggiore views while supporting youth-led local cultural promotion.
