The exhibition focused on Wassily Kandinsky and abstract art at the MA*GA Museum in Gallarate received strong public interest: in roughly four and a half months it welcomed 48,000 visitors. The show opened on 30 November 2025 and closed in the first half of April 2026.
The display proposed a thematic and historical route that put Kandinsky in dialogue with the Italian abstract movement, offering significant works and critical comparisons.
The exhibition was praised for its scholarly rigour and curatorial quality and received support and patronage from several institutions, including the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Gallarate and Regione Lombardia, as well as regional cultural initiatives.
Museum leaders and local authorities note that the event helped consolidate MA*GA's status as a key centre for modern and contemporary art, increasing the cultural appeal of the city and surrounding area.
