Galleria 291 Est / Exhibition Space presents Orlando, a solo exhibition by José Witteveen curated by Elisa Dell'Accio. The project draws on Virginia Woolf's novel to explore transformations of identity and the tensions between time, gender and space.
The show gathers works produced since 2019, created through a participatory process where personal narratives interact with artistic practice. The pieces combine photographic techniques and experimental printing, offering a layered view of contemporary narratives.
The exhibition stems from residencies and participatory programs: it is well suited to visitors interested in the intersection of critical practice, activism and collective storytelling. For a quieter visit, prefer weekdays.
Tip: reading passages from Virginia Woolf's "Orlando" can deepen your understanding of the exhibition.
