On Friday 17 April 2026 at 19:00 the exhibition The World Is One opens at the Oratorio San Rocco – Contemporary Art Museum in Trapani. Curated by Francesco Piazza with scientific consultancy by Amanda Skamagka (University of Athens), the project draws its title from the second book of Yannis Ritsos’s Italian Triptych.
The exhibition departs from Ritsos’s poems (written between 1976 and 1980) and invites artists to traverse the texts rather than illustrate them. Each contribution stems from biographical, symbolic or emotional resonances, producing works that connect word and image to address themes such as memory, landscape, collective disorientation and environmental erosion.
Venue: Oratorio San Rocco – Contemporary Art Museum, Trapani.
Opening: 17 April 2026, 19:00. Exhibition period: until 10 October 2026.
The exhibition is produced with Marabù Eventi e Servizi (Palermo), which has adopted recyclable cardboard and other renewable materials for the display, emphasising an environmentally conscious approach to installation. The project is supported by the Greek Embassy in Italy and the Orestiadi Foundation of Gibellina, in collaboration with the Oratorio San Rocco and Galleria Nomadartcollective.
For visiting hours, bookings and further details please consult the museum’s official channels or contact the organisers. The show is recommended for audiences interested in contemporary art, poetic translation into visual forms and research on landscape and cultural memory.
