Until May 2 the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in São Paulo is hosting "5+1", an exhibition gathering the work of six Italian designers active in Brazil who created projects specifically for the local context and produced them on site.
Purpose: to highlight design as a tool of cultural diplomacy, fostering creative exchange and collaboration with Brazilian cultural and production systems.
According to IIC director Lillo Guarneri, "5+1 symbolizes close collaboration that helps nurture relations between Italy and Brazil"; the Institute seeks to broaden its audience by engaging schools, universities and local cultural circuits while strengthening ties with the Sistema Italia.
The exhibition reflects the IIC's approach of using design as a bridge between creativity, industry and innovation to promote Italy's cultural presence abroad, while supporting sustainable production and long-term partnerships.
