Gravity of the Wall is a solo exhibition by Malaysian‑Danish artist Amir Zainorin staged within the layered architecture of the Museo delle Mura. The project presents five site‑specific installations that probe contemporary visual language through discarded materials and participatory practices.

Works to look for

• The Weight of Lightness: a floor‑based intervention made from handmade paper derived from soaked atlas pages and gauze fibers; the circular composition plays on fragility and material weight.
• Rhythm of Identity: A Cultural Laboratory of Percussion and Memory: traditional Malaysian frame drums (kompang) reworked with reused radiographic films; these instruments are repurposed as listening and interactive tools.
• Boot‑ed: an intimate sculpture of a worn pair of boots containing two contrasting plants — a cactus and an orchid — evoking themes of survival and vulnerability.
• Color Theory: colored bandages applied to the battlements’ crenellations, altering the monument’s visual rhythm and domesticating the fortification.
• Stateless Mind Pavilion: a performative, adaptive pavilion hosting conversations and collective encounters, emphasizing exchange over fixed definitions of nationality and identity.

Zainorin’s practice combines references to conceptual and Arte Povera traditions, communal rituals and migration narratives. By transforming atlases, medical films and everyday materials, the works invite reflection on cartographies of power and possible new imaginaries.
