Galleria Diaz14 in Como hosts "From the Sky", an exhibition focused on Giuliano Collina’s paintings and sculptural work, running from 25 March to 9 May 2026. The show highlights recurring motifs in the artist’s practice and explores their poetic and spiritual resonance.
The exhibition uses the sky as a central metaphor: not merely a painted subject but an organizing idea. Repeated motifs — doves, angels, rains and soul-like presences — are presented as components of a visual vocabulary that balances materiality and suggestion. The works invite reflection on presence and absence without resorting to straightforward narrative.
Born in Intra in 1938 and established in Como from childhood, Collina trained at the Liceo Artistico and the Brera Academy. Active since the 1950s, he has combined painting with sculpture, producing bronze and steel works for public and private settings. His practice is notable for a consistent artistic voice, privileging formal rigor and inward intensity over fleeting trends.
This presentation is part of a broader engagement with Collina’s oeuvre in the Como area and beyond, tracing longstanding relationships that have kept his work in the critical and public eye.
