Coast Day in Puglia — Sunday 12 April 2026

To mark Coast Day, established by regional law, Sunday 12 April 2026 will feature a program of activities along Puglia's coastline. Events focus on protection and enhancement of coastal environments: voluntary clean-ups, marine wildlife releases and guided walks in natural areas.

Main events

• 09:30 — Le Cesine beach, Vernole (LE): release of a sea turtle with scientific and outreach components.
• 11:00 — Frigole (LE): 8th edition of "A pesca di plastica", a beach clean-up aimed at volunteers and families.
• 10:00 — Scoglio di Frisio beach, Trani (BT): "Beach clean up" including waste collection and environmental awareness activities.
• 09:30 — Gallipoli (LE): exploratory tour "Confidenza con la costa" with an environmental guide; route from the Samari canal mouth to Foggi beach in the Punta Pizzo Regional Natural Park.
• 10:30 — Lungomare San Foca, Marina di Melendugno (LE): "C’è costa per te" event featuring coastal discovery and clean-up actions.
