Florence for Children: workshops, shows and visits (22-24 May 2026)

Florence for Children is a family-oriented event offering three days of creative activities, educational routes and performances across the historic centre and cultural venues in the city.

Main program

• Creative workshops: illustration studios, artisan workshops and hands-on activities related to theatre and woodworking, suitable for different age groups.
• Shows: theatre performances, puppet shows and musical paths designed for young children and teenagers.
• Educational routes for schools: guided visits and learning activities in museums and historic sites, tailored to primary school students.
• Journalism for kids: sessions and labs about news and fake information presented in an age-appropriate way.
• Night at the Museum: evening activities and symbolic overnight experiences in selected historic venues.
• Closing parade: final event in Piazza della Signoria featuring characters and costumes inspired by the Pinocchio bicentenary.

Where and when

Activities take place across Florence’s historic centre and cultural sites, including Palazzo Vecchio, Biblioteca delle Oblate, Santa Maria Novella complex, Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Palazzo Buontalenti, Palazzo Stefano Bardini, the Istituto degli Innocenti and the Military Geographic Institute. The final event is held in Piazza della Signoria.
