Family Festival — 3rd Edition

On Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17, 2026 the Parco della Cittadella in Ancona hosts the Family Festival: a weekend of workshops, performances, sports activities and food areas designed for children and parents.

Summary of the program

• Saturday, May 16
  • 15:30 — Tree planting for newborns
  • 16:00 — Official greetings and start of the fitness walk
  • 16:30 — K9 unit demonstration
  • 16:45–around 21:00 — Concerts and musical performances
  • 18:30 — Puppet show “Here’s a tree”
  • Ongoing activities: Nordic walking, mini pony rides, children's market, sewing workshops, English workshops for kids, show cooking, safety games by the Red Cross
• Sunday, May 17
  • 09:30 — Mindful walk in the park
  • 16:00 — Afternoon activities open
  • Dance shows, inclusive circus workshops, balancing acts, bubble and magic shows, theatrical activities and readings
  • 15:00–19:00 — Mercabimbo: educational play market for children aged 6–12 (free participation with reservation of the stall)
  • 18:30 — Holy Color Ring: amateur color run for ages 12–16 (registration by email and signed waiver required)

Many activities are free access; some have limited places or require prior registration.

• Holy Color Ring (12–16 years): send an email with personal details, age and parent contact number to the address indicated by the organisers; registration is confirmed after receiving the signed waiver.
• Bring ID for minors when requested.

Hours and extras

The park stays open until 23:00 on Saturday for the food area. A Luna Park is present from May 16 to 24 with daily openings (earlier openings at weekends from 11:00).

• Arrive early to allow time for parking and settling in.
• Bring water, snacks and comfortable clothes; check for updates in case of bad weather.
• The festival focuses on play, inclusion and sustainability: activities suit children of different ages.
