For Mother's Day the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum is organizing a morning dedicated to families and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders, with particular attention to autism. The initiative aims to provide a calm, accessible and engaging cultural visit, supported by trained staff and heritage operators.
Guided visits are designed to promote comfort and participation: each route lasts about one and a half hours and runs in limited-size groups to ensure a relaxed experience and personalized support.
To boost engagement, the interactive digital guide "Avventura a Ercolano" is available, created with input from experts in education and neurodiversity. The app can be used on tablets provided by the Park or downloaded on iPad at ercolano.cultura.gov.it/accessibilita/.
Booking is mandatory. The morning is open to families with children, primary and lower-secondary schools, and anyone seeking an accessible cultural experience.
Comfortable clothing is recommended. This activity is part of the "Culture without Barriers" project, aimed at making cultural sites welcoming and usable by all families.
