On the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, the Herculaneum Archaeological Park is offering guided visits tailored to children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders. The initiative aims to make the cultural experience more accessible, calm and engaging.
Hours: morning sessions available between 9:00 and 13:00. Duration: approximately 90 minutes per tour.
The program is designed for primary and lower secondary schools, families with children, and anyone who wishes to experience the site through inclusive methods. The goal is to promote understanding of the archaeological context while ensuring a relaxed environment for visitors.
To ease engagement, the Park uses an interactive digital guide developed with education and neurodiversity specialists. Proposed activities combine technology and hands-on tasks to increase participation.
The project is part of the broader accessibility and inclusion program called “Culture without barriers”, carried out in collaboration with specialist associations and cultural operators.
Tours are structured to ensure a calm, well-organised experience for participants. For session schedules and participation details, check the Archaeological Park's official website or its communication channels for updates and any specific instructions.
