Cuneo Mountain Festival 2026: four days focused on mountains and “boundaries”

From 14 to 17 May 2026 the city of Cuneo hosts the fourth edition of the Cuneo Mountain Festival, a distributed event that highlights the relationship between urban life and the highlands through activities for hikers, trekkers and outdoor enthusiasts.

The festival blends talks, film screenings, concerts, exhibitions and outdoor experiential activities under the common theme of “boundaries”: encouraging participants to question limits and stereotypes and to discover alpine territories with fresh perspectives.

Program highlights

  • Conferences and talks: conversations on mountain education, alpine architecture and cross-border projects.
  • Film screenings: previews and tributes to mountain culture, including an excerpt from Fredo Valla’s film on Hans Clemer.
  • Athlete talks: insights from mountain sports and trail running champions.
  • Exhibitions: displays on historic trails and the fortifications of the Maritime Alps.
  • Alpine village: Saturday 16 (10:00–18:00) and Sunday 17 (09:30–18:00) in via Roma, a meeting place for associations and mountain operators.
  • Shows: stand-up comedy, live podcasts and public performances.

Off-festival events and workshop

Ahead of the main festival, on Saturday 9 (10:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00) and Sunday 10 May (10:00–13:00) La Casa del Fiume will host the writing workshop “What we mean when we talk about stories” led by Davide Longo. The workshop, focusing on mountains and valleys, costs €10.

Practical information

  • When: 14–17 May 2026 (off-events: 9–10 May 2026)
  • Where: Cuneo, multiple venues across the city and outdoor locations
