This exhibition by Claudia Piscitelli presents painted garments emptied of any visible body, objects that nonetheless convey emotions, social roles and archetypes of female identity. Curated by Barbara Crespigni and hosted by the Museo della Moda di Napoli, the show examines how clothing functions as a medium for memory, identity and collective dynamics, using lightness and irony to address serious themes such as representation and the complexities of emotional relationships.
The exhibition is dedicated to Tito Piscitelli, who supported theatre projects for young people in Brazil and Naples; proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the NGO Cria.
The exhibition includes ten large paintings representing different female archetypes and a central installation:
Piscitelli's painted garments act as narrative devices: stripped of a body, fabric remains a carrier of stories and inner states. The minimal male figure present as "the hypnotist" functions as an ironic counterpoint that highlights power dynamics and emotional escapism within relationships.
Visitor note: the exhibition offers a blend of aesthetic appeal and social reflection, recommended for those interested in the intersection of fashion, memory and identity formation.
