  • 14 May (17:00): Monte d'Accoddi — rites and sounds of Sardinia with traditional masks and choral performances;

  • 16 May: opening of food and commercial areas, horseshoeing and forging demonstrations at the Pinna racecourse, and an evening showcase of traditional song;

Parade order and participants

The parade order includes many choirs, folk ensembles and tenores from across the island. Historical formations and local groups represent communities from multiple Sardinian provinces, offering a varied lineup of choral songs, tenore singing and traditional dances.

Food area, markets and services

The historic centre becomes a large open-air market with a food area exceeding 4,200 m² covering Piazza d'Armi, via Asproni, corso Margherita di Savoia and sections of via Mazzini and via Enrico Costa. This zone is separate from the commercial area and features local specialties, artisanal products and catering points.

Practical tips

  • Arrive early on parade day: prime viewing spots fill quickly;
  • Check whether evening performances or free workshops require advance booking;
  • Prefer public transport or park-and-ride options as central streets may be closed during key days;
  • Bring water and sun protection for warm days; food areas provide many options for meals and snacks.

The Cavalcata Sarda is a unique chance to experience Sardinian culture and traditions. Mark the dates and consult the detailed city program to catch all performances and exhibitions.
