The Herculaneum Archaeological Park has introduced "Adventure in Herculaneum", an interactive digital guide designed to lead children and teenagers through the ancient city. The initiative combines technology and pedagogy to turn visits into active, participatory experiences, with a strong focus on accessibility.
Launch: the guide was presented at Fiera Didacta Italia, the national fair dedicated to innovation in education, in a session aimed at teachers, educators and cultural professionals.
The project seeks to promote cultural heritage as a source of education and social well-being, encouraging local community involvement — especially among socio-economically disadvantaged groups — and making the archaeological site experience more inclusive.
The initiative involves organizations specializing in cultural heritage conservation and digital education, collaborating with the Park to develop content, routes and teaching materials for schools and professionals.
How to get involved: teachers, educators and cultural operators can check the Herculaneum Archaeological Park's official channels for updates on school visits, educational resources and access to the digital guide.
