Arte Povera in the spotlight: new displays in the Castello di Rivoli

Autore: Redazione 26/03/2026 19:18

Reinstallation of the Permanent Collection

The Castello di Rivoli is renewing the presentation of its permanent collection with a multi-phase reinstallation emphasizing Arte Povera. The project, scheduled to unfold through the end of 2026, highlights both recent acquisitions and historically important works from the museum’s holdings.

Highlights for Spring 2026

The spring 2026 rehang introduces refreshed exhibition routes featuring significant works and figures from Italian art, including:

  • Gino de Dominicis – notable pieces from the late 1960s and 1970s;
  • Emilio Vedova – important works from the 1980s;
  • Michelangelo Pistoletto – key contributions to the collection;
  • Marisa Merz – selected works on display;
  • Piero Gilardi – "Sulla riva del lago" (2005) exhibited at the Castello for the first time following a recent donation.

Giorgio Griffa: the «90» project

To mark Giorgio Griffa’s 90th birthday, the museum stages a tribute exhibition that spans his work from the 1970s to the present, illustrating his pared-down approach to painting—canvas, color and mark. The presentation includes both artworks and documentary material sourced from the artist’s studio.

Nanda Lanfranco: artist portraits

The museum’s Research Center (CRRI) unveils a first public selection from the Nanda Lanfranco Archive, established in 2025. The display features over 30 original black-and-white prints portraying artists who have exhibited at the Castello, emphasising the photographer’s long-standing relationship with the institution.

Why visit

  • See Arte Povera masterpieces re-contextualized in new monographic rooms;
  • Experience exhibitions combining painting, installation and archival documentation;
  • Enjoy renewed routes designed for both specialist and general audiences.
